Started cleaning out my garage yesterday and found a small jar of "bobcat urine". Don't know why or where I got this, but apparently it is some sort of granule that has had actual bobcar urine sprinkled on it. Maybe something like that would work.

Predator urine has been sold as deterents for many pests for years. However, if that particular predator does not live around you the critters you want to deter won't be because they do not know who left that odor. They will have no fear of an animal they know not. Even if the predator is around most of the time the need to eat overcomes any fear and the potential pest will still visit a food source to survive.
In Africa, even though all the land animals know crocodiles are in the river they will still go to the river to drink and cross.

The critters are probably digging for grubs this time of year. Soak your lawn in a solution of cedar oil diluted in water & it will kill the grubs and the racoons & skunks will search for food elsewhere!

Raccoons and skunks are probably digging for grubs. There are a lot of skunks in my neighborhood and they are rarely an issue. Raccoons on the other hand are a real pain. If your yard is small, can you cover your lawn with some chicken wire. It won't look great but will at least prevent animals from digging until the grass is grown.
