Whether or not your soil would need another application of fertilizer depends on what the nutrient level in your soil is. Most all turfgrasses need 2 pounds of Nitrogen per 1,000 square feet annually and if you plunk down the right stuff that lawn only needs a feeding once each year, in October is fine. So if you have put that amount of N into the turf there is no need to put more, which can create problems and add to the pollution that we have. If you have not done so for some time contact your local office of the Rutgers USDA Cooperative Extension Service and ask about having a good, reliable soil test done to see if yoru soil needs more "fertilizer".
