Applying liquid amendments with ???

I typically apply liquid compost, liquid molasses, fish etc... with a hose end sprayer. lately I have been having a difficult time with them keeping suction and the whole process becomes a huge PITA. What have you had success with when applying this stuff to your lawn? a pump sprayer seems like it would take forever. In theory a hose ended sprayer sounds like the most efficient means of application...maybe its just time for a new or better one. I have about 2500 sq ft of lawn. Thanks!

Are you straining these liquids enough to remove the solids that will clog hose end sprayers?

I spray a mixture of liquid amendments, 3-4 oz of liquid molasses (per 1000sf) several times each season with no clog or pressure loss. Mix the molasses in about a quart of water in a milk jug. Shake and pour into spreader.

Could also be your tube is split near the top. Or there is an O-ring inside under the dial. It might be flipped inside out or cock-eyed. I have repaired them with the O-ring problem. Figured it was broken now so taking it apart couldn't make it worse. I believe there are screws that hold the top together. Or it could be time for a new one.
