If your lawn is really small, seven years of sharp is doable, I suppose. I tend to sharpen my (power) blades once a month to keep them at the top of their game. I'm a stickler about a good, sharp blade, though.

100 lbs doesn't say how strong you are, but you should be able to manage one (disclaimer: This ride is not meant for people with COPD, heart problems, pregnant women, etc. You must be THIS tall to ride this ride). I have noticed major problems getting them through a thick lawn, and doing a third of an acre is reasonable. Anything larger and you have to decide if you want to put in the time and effort.

If you decide that it's not for you but you like the no gas concept, maybe an electric rotary would be the next best option.

I'm no weakling, and I'm quite healthy, but not as strong at 51 as I was at 31. I have about 3/4 acre, shrinking every season as I remove more lawn and replace with plantings. I will think more about the reel mower. At the very least, it can be used in between the other mowings.
In south Louisiana, where I lived most my life, I can't imagine it would be feasible in that thick grass that needed mowing about every 5 days, but "up here" in north Mississippi, it sure seems doable. Thanks.

The best use for reel mowers is for very short lawns. Bermuda, bent, and centipede lend themselves to reel mowers. What kind of grass do you have?

3/4 acre is quite a bit to do with a manual reel mower, or even a power mower. I have 2/3 acre of bermuda that I mow about two times a week and am glad that I have my tractor...especially in the hot humid summers we have here (and I imaging you have there too.)
