HAVE: Unusual root vegetable with pretty flower

Posted by Clare z6 MO (My Page) on

I have seeds of Salsify, also known as oyster plant, to trade. The roots of this plant are eaten. It makes a morning-blooming flower that is about three inches across and periwinkle blue. Forms fluffy seed heads like giant dandelions, but sturdier. Could probably be preserved for dried flowers if you are good with preservative spray.

Would like to trade for bean, winter squash (not butternut, please), or other vegetable seed.
