I actually bought seeds at Atwood's today. Looking to future warm temps! Some really different things this time, and the prices have gone UP, it seems. What used to be .99 cents is now $1.59. Bummer.

Looking forward to walks through the yard, dreaming again about sunshine and warm temps, and the colors of the beds. I don't remember a winter like this one, does anyone? Heavy, heavy snowfall in St. Louis a couple of years when I lived there, but not this COLD, ever.

Let's just enjoy what we have for the middle of January. Hopefully it will be on the upturn weather-wise.

Yay! Looks like we're going to have lots of highs in the 40s and 50s for awhile. Even a day in 30s feels warm relative to our cold spell.
My kids will have their first full week of school next week since Christmas break so I'm anxious to start my winter sowing and it will be be warm enough to make a mess outside instead of in the middle of my kitchen floor. I got a little bag of potting soil for Christmas but have already used some of it to pot up a sweet potato that was sprouting. (That's my only gardening so far for 2014). It was a darker sweeter variety that they were selling at Mama Jean's Market. Can't remember the name.
