When do you start your veggies in a cold frame? Do you have to wait until night time temps stay above freezing?

I am going to sow some lettuce and spinach by Valentine's Day this year. Mine is just made out of hay bales and will be covered with storm windows.

No, plant them when you wish anytime from December 31 on. They'll come up when they know it's ok.
