Gld - How is your lettuce doing?
My family doesn't eat salad very well unless it comes in a bag. lol The kids would never eat the leaf lettuce that my father grows (no crunch) so I've never tried to grow any myself.

RE: Lettuce Under the Lights

I just used it for wilted lettuce; it seemed limp to me. I gave the rest to the chickens recently.

You should try the butter head type that makes the little heads. It is very nice and has more body than leaf lettuce.
You could let each one pick his own head for a salad. That might get their attention.

RE: Lettuce Under the Lights

I just planted my leaf lettuce, my canaries love it , me to. :) Gin

Look nice. I think I will try to start some this year. I haven't before w/just me to eat it. But with the economy now? I think I will try to save as much on food cost as possible.
