Guess what my forecast is now!

Freezing rain - 1 to 2 inches. I am going to fill my bathtub in case the electricity goes off. I am so ready that I have already eaten one quarter of my emergency browies that I made for hard times around here. I've got the wood in the hall and too much of a fire going in the wood stove. I may have to open some doors to cool off.

We are scheduled for sleet followed by 8-12 inches of snow. Sounds like you're all prepared for your storm. I plan to spend the day making venison/beef chili, custard pie and treating my pepper plants for aphids.
DH has the snow blower filled and ready to go. I've never run it but might just give it a go since his job is to help clean the city streets.
Helen, you crack me up...better cool off a bit and save a few brownies :)

Great day for Chili. I should make that for our dinner too. Sounds like your DH will have plenty to do Nancy. You're in for a lot of snow. We're lucky that it's going to miss us. They've backed off just a little on the ice for us, now mostly sleet I think. Even a little ice makes it slick though. The kids are all home from school today, even Missouri State. I'm so glad I don't have to get out and drive in it and especially glad my kids aren't driving on it. I may lose internet after while but it's working right now. That goes out quicker than electricity for me. I'm expecting it.
Helen - I hope they've backed off on your ice forecast too. "Emergency Brownies"? lol Sounds good. Maybe a little emergency ice cream along with it. yum : )

Helen, it getting ugly here as well. Been bringing in the ice covered wood to thaw out. Filled my generator which will run the fridge a couple of lights and the buck stove blowers so it's all good. You be safe girl!

Looks like the majority of the storm has already passed to the northeast, unless there is more to come the weather Doppler shows it is mostly done, for Joplin at least.

I think we made it. I hope the people who have to drive stay safe. In a way I am glad we are having normal winter weather because I want next summer to be normal. Don't fall on the sidewalk or steps.

well, so far we have 10 inches. The news guy says that 7inches of that fell between 7-9AM. They are forecasting another 2-4 this evening. I didnt get to use our new snowblower. By the time I got up a neighbor had done it :)

The snow has a crust on top and when I let our new lil dog out he fell through the crust and yelped. The snow was up to his shoulders. Poor lil thing. I think hes about the size of Honey. I had to go out and shovel a place for him to do his business.

I hope you dont get alot of ice. That can sure cause damage.

We just got about 1/2 inch of sleet/ice/rain. It didn't do any harm but it did make for some slick walking. DH wore his Yak Trax and I didn't go outside. This was the first time I let Sugar go outside on her own......she came back each time without us having to go after her which was a very good thing.

Our daughter is in north KC and she got lots of snow.
