You may remember, about a month ago, I posted "AWE". It was about a mallard that had nested by my front door. Today I watched all 13 babies hatch. Within 1 hour the mom walked her babies down to the pond. The nest was in a raised bed and it was fun to watch the babies make the leap. Unfortunately my wife had the camera with her. The worst part, she missed the whole thing, she was major bummed.

You need to solve that problem by having a his and hers camera....we do!

I love seeing little ducklings follow their Mama. I am amazed something didn't get them or the eggs.

I had no idea that baby ducks left their nest so soon.
I would have just thought something got them if the eggs were all empty and the ducks were gone. Glad you got to see it happen.
Will they hang around the pond for awhile? Maybe you can get a picture there.

Baby ducks are sooo cute. The pond is the safest place because ducks are kind of clumsy on land. Maybe they will make it.
