Iris are loving this dry heat

Already blooming:
From May 2014

Notice the rain on the garage? We finally got slightly over 3/4 inch!

I just previewed this and realize I should have used a smaller size picture but am too lazy to do it now. I will try to remember next time. I hope it doesn't take a half day to download.

RE: Iris are loving this dry heat

You are looking on the bright side. I was just cursing the weather man on the evening news. He is just too happy it is going to be dry for Mother's Day. We missed the bad storms and also the rain again.

Thanks for the pictures. I love to see other gardens. You have lots of pretty iris, Glenda. They are supposed to be easy but I have trouble with them. The foliage on mine does not look nice. Yours look healthy.

RE: Iris are loving this dry heat

Helen, some of the foliage gets pretty ugly especially in wet weather.

They are easy in one way buy difficult in another....very hard to keep pernicious weeds (bermuda grass and brome) out of them.
Each year I vow to eliminate most. So far, I haven't.

My peonies have already started. Have yours?

RE: Iris are loving this dry heat

Love the clematis and iris together Glenda.
I have lots of iris blooms this year too. A couple are from ones we dug last year from my aunt's garden who passed away and I was so glad to see those coming back.

Be sure to look at my Iris on FB, Gldno
