Before and After - Elm Tree in Garden

Just wanted to share my two hours with you,

This is what I faced:

and what I finished with. It is hard to see the openness because of the shadows, but the berry patch is now free and I can mow around the garden.

I will try to reassemble the hoop frame today so I can finally plant pole beans.

That was a nice tree; I'm sorry you lost it. Don't get hurt trying to do the rest yourself. Those limbs can turn or spring back on you as you cut them. If it were oak you could get a wood cutter to do it, but I doubt if elm would be worth the trouble to them.

I will probably just let it lay right where it is now that I can garden. Elm isn't the best firewood and you would have to split it green or have a splitter. It is like iron once it dries out.

Glenda - You may be taking this "Stay active" thing too far. lol I know I'm younger than you but I'm sure I couldn't keep up.
Do think if you left the stump, you'd get a few morels eventually? They're supposed to like dead elm trees.
