| Well, I did have one B&B salvia survive the winter in the sun perinneal bed. But -- I found quart plants of it at Sutherlands in Joplin today for $3.49 each and there were about 6 left after I bought several. If you want some, better get yourself on over there, if you're close to Joplin. This Fall I'm going to cover them very well and maybe they will make it. And I won't have to look for it in every nursery every Spring!
Also, they had quarts of Gold Standard hosta for the same price.
Jackpot! lol

| Awesome Sunny! That plant is difficult to find. I found it one year at Orchleins in Republic and that's the only place I've ever seen it besides the Master Gardener sale last year where I got mine that I have now. I had three clumps last year and finally have just a few tiny green sprouts starting to poke through the ground about three inches from the base of one of them. There's nothing sprouting off the actual base though, so if I was just looking at that, I would think it was dead. I've been checking on it three times a day for the last month so I'm glad it's coming back. I think I killed the one I kept in the garage. I set it outside this spring when I found new growth on it because I was afraid it would get too hot in the garage, then frost got it. It's been almost a month I think and it still hasn't come back again. |

| I kept mine (3 of them) in the house on a windowsill and did what you did with one of them Christie. It is sprouting now or a weed is sprouting in its place. |

| I stopped at Lowe's in Republic today and they had gallon sized Black & Blues for 5.95. They were in the pots that have "Premium Annual" on the outside. Helen - I keep watching my potted one but it still looks dead. I have two now in the ground that have started sprouting. I still bought another at Lowe's today because it was already blooming and it's such a great plant for hummingbirds. |

I just got home from Jenk's (formerly Shank Farms) outside of Diamond. They must have had 25 quarts of black and blue salvia for sale. And loads of other unusual things as well. I bought some Mexican Petunia plants that get 4-5 ft tall and are so beautiful all summer along a fenceline. Prices are less than every GH in town. Last year was their first year and they expanded. So many plants! Sunny Sunny |

Finally all my six plants all came back, even the late planted ones over by the cellar. I thought it was the warmth from the drive keeping the other one going, but evidently not. I didn't even mulch the ones by the cellar in the grass bed. |

| I am glad I read this thread. I bought one yesterday. Now I will give more thought to where I plant mine. |
