I haven't tried Painter's Palette but looked it up and one site said it's not as invasive as other persicarias so maybe you'll be ok. It had mostly positive ratings.
I had a phlox 'David' by my front porch that didn't make it through the winter this year, but I think my other one is ok by my garage. I'll know when it starts blooming. There are more volunteers than the actual David that I first planted so it's hard to tell which has survived. I can see why you'd want to replace that it. It's beautiful.

Sorry they didn't have the clematis you wanted though.

Do they ever mark stuff down at Hilltop? I would go again for a clearance sale.

Painter's Pallett is a new one for me. It did have very good reviews from the forbidden website which is unusual. Those that said it spread were pleased that it spread; that is a good recommendation. You can't go wrong with David phlox or orange butterfly weed.

Christie, I doubt it....she doesn't strike me as a 'mark down' kind of gal!!!
I saw a few signs but they were like buy 10, get one free kinds of things....not good for me at all.

I do wonder if they just leave them in those pots on the benches all winter though.

I have lots of die back and winter damage on shrubs and small trees in my yard from last winter's extremes in early Feb., but hostas in pots were not harmed at all. My pots are bigger though but I imagine they put them all together in a sheltered place with a tarp or something over them.

I was wondering the same thing about clearance items as I'm going next week before they close. And I know I have some wooden nickels somewhere but where I've put them I have no idea.
