I bought a goumi 'Sweet Scarlet' last spring and it didn't have any fruit last year but this year there were dozens of berries. Last time I checked them, they looked quite green but yesterday they were gone. They ripened quicker than I thought they would. Wish the birds had left me one just to try. I need to remember to cover it next year.

My Juneberries are starting to ripen and I picked almost a cupful today. At least I beat the birds to those.

I had about a dozen blooms this spring on the Balaton Cherry that I planted last year but no fruit. I'm sure we didn't have a freeze after it bloomed and it's supposed to be self-pollinating so I was hoping I would get some of those to try. Maybe next year.
