I just found a place that makes garden tools, and has seeds, garlic, etc close to home! They make Rogue Hoes, even short handled ones like I want for my raised beds. Best of all, its only 12 miles away, in Cabool, Mo. I'm thrifty, (read cheap) I like to pick items up and not pay shipping .Found out about it on Rare Seeds site.

I like to buy local too.
I've seen a tool that's like a dandelion digger with a long handle. But I'd like to find one that has something to push down on with my foot and I can't find one. It would be great for tap rooted things like poke and thistles. The ones I've seen are straight and you wouldn't be able to get any leverage.

I hate to pay shipping also. It keeps me from ordering at all many times.
When I order from Amazon, I often buy another item just to get enough for the free shipping.
A good tool is worth a good price. I have several hoes but only one or two are long enough. I like little pointed shovels for my rocks and a mattock is indespensible.
