You have them in a good place. I am also hooked on heirlooms. I planted mine too close to a field of weeds and I am getting lots of stink bug damage. What did you fill you raised beds with? I think you told us before; it looks like it worked.

Helen, initially I filled them with cotton burrs, lots of finished compost, some peat (I guess that's a no-no), bagged garden soil, and in the wintertime I bury some of my kitchen scraps in them. The tomatoes only get fertilized early (before bloom) with fish emulsion. I must add good compost to all the beds every year.
