i planted some silver queen this year..........end of May. It has huge leaves and is about waist high but not producing okra yet. Now if we ate leaves we'd have ample. lol Has anyone ever grown this variety and does it eventually produce?

That's one reason I now plant Cajun Delight. Mine is about knee high and I got my first small picking yesterday.

Sorry, I don't have experience with your variety.

Donna - How tall is your okra? I saw a description that said Silver Queen gets up to six feet tall. It also said 80 days to maturity so it sounds like it's just too soon. I haven't grown okra but my parents do. After they start blooming, I think it only takes a few days until you can harvest them. Maybe someone else can comment whether I'm right about that.
Be sure and let us know yours does. The seed catalogs sure make it sound good.
