Road trip score!

DH and I went on a weekend trip south looking for wooden chairs and porch swings. We didn't find any but we did stay in Sikeston and went to the farmer's marker there. There was a young man who had a pickup bed full of daylilies that he was selling for $5.00 a bag. I bought four. Then I found a nursery in town that had 2 gallon Jackson and Perkins roses for $7.00 a piece and I bought four of those (Tahitian Sunset, Veteran's Honor and two Social Climbers). I've never tried growing roses but I love them and decided to try my hand at it.

Gee! You scored bigtime.Congrats. I'd have loved the daylilies specially. Good luck with your roses. I've seen woodn chairs and swings at times on hwy 7coming south from ARK border.

Do you know what color your daylilies will be or were they mixed?

If I remember right, you did a bunch of winter sowing this year too. You're going to have LOTS of flowers next year. Hope you're taking before and after photos of your yard.

Yes, I have before and after photos. Most of my winter sown stuff is really slow growing so the garden looks a little sad right now. Plus even with 350+ containers I still didn't have enough make it to fill it up. So..... gotta do more this winter!
