I like that combo too.
I can't think of the name of the dark leaved plant in your photos but it looks like one I grew several years ago. I kept it in a container outside and moved it in to keep as a houseplant over the winter and put it back out again the next spring. Failed the second year but I'm sure it was my fault.
Somehow you manage to visit Nathanael Greene more often than I do and It's a much shorter drive for me. I even missed the butterfly festival this year.
