That calls for a BLT Helen. : )
I've been bringing in a handful of cherry tomatoes every day, just enough for a big green salad. It makes it a little less painful to eat healthy.

That's a beauty! I am still just getting a few little ones, about the size of tangerines. My cherry tomatoes are coming on very slowly!

These are fun. I really prefer medium sized tomatoes, but this guy has no bad spots. It is irregular and has harmless cracks on top. The shadows you see are not bad places. What I don't like about big tomatoes is that some critter usually makes them rot before I get to eat them. Many of my tomatoes have splits or cracks or holes. The first one took me two days to eat.

Helen, I finally picked some Granny Cantrell yesterday. They have lots of cracks; too dry then lots of rain at one time.

GC is my earliest tomato except for the ss Pink Ping Pong. She is just a moderate pink sized one but very tasty.

I liked Granny Cantrell last year, but this year she didn't get a good spot. In my yard it makes a big difference because I have hauled in lots of barnyard dirt. They like to grow in it. The same tomato in different spots will perform like night and day. What I miss is my Pale Perfect Purple which last year was in a prime spot. This year it is down on the end in the rocks. I wanted to try more new kinds and I planted them first.

I had my first Cherokee Purple yesterday from a plant that I bought at Lowe's for my dad. I'm not a big tomato fan but this one was really good. The color was bright red on the inside and very few seeds, which I'm saving. I don't know what other kinds of tomatoes he's growing this year but I'm hoping they didn't cross.
I was disappointed with my Black Cherry tomatoes last year. I got them in a trade and I wonder if they weren't true because so many people claim they're wonderful. They split too quickly, and with a cherry tomato there isn't much left if they split.

I like Cherokee Purple also. I grew some from seeds and the stocky plants were a joy to grow. I gave most of the plants away but I kept a few and Indian Stripe also which is similar. I like them better than other black tomatoes that I've tried.

Christie, I am getting a lot of splitting too; I think because we were dry too long and then got heavy rains at one time. That always causes splitting in fruit of any kind.

I am still waiting to see if my Black Cherry that self seeded is......one turned out to be a twice as large red cherry. I planted one from saved seeds so will be interesting to see if it crossed with something. Seems I have read cherries cross more easily.

I am just getting Park's Whopper (won't plant again), Granny Canrell, and San Marzanos. I have some huge Brandywines and a Giant Yellow that aren't ripe yet. I have one Ananas noire but it isn't ripe yet either.

Here's the Cherokee Purple sliced in half. I wanted to show you how few seeds it had. I had already scooped them out to save when I took this photo but you can still tell.

More Reif Red Heart and wrong date again. You can see the $%#X

^% stick bug spots. The largest is a palm full; the others are good sized tomatoes. I took the picture today. Christie that is a nice meaty tomato.
