Amen! I think I just finished canning the last of the tomatoes and picked a near bushel of peppers. Garden is done too.

I need cooler weather and lots of rain!!!!

I was starting to think we were going to get through the summer without hitting 100 until this week and it's been so hot. Now I'm ready for fall too. I confess I've only been watering the plants in my containers and very little else.
Our rain chances for this week they predicted a few days ago have dwindled. I had my hopes up. Maybe it will rain this weekend.

Yes, Christie, I noticed...the rain and cooler weather keeps being a week away...constantly (lol).

I am hopeful starting Friday looking at long range..but who knows.

I am trying to pick tomatoes; I can't stand to be out in the heat so I pick a few and come inside. They are hot to the touch and probably cooked. Some are shaded by weeds so there is no incentive to pull weeds.

I am ready to pull up some ratty tomatoes and start over with something now that I got a good rain. I will mow my grass today. I haven't been mowing - don't like dust and it looked greener long than if it had been mowed.

I was shocked (by the rain obviously)...but shocked to find that white dutch clover in the lawn..that had gone dormant for the heat/drought, had already mostly unfolded it's first leaves by this afternoon.

Now that's a fast reaction...course we got about .02 inches on Saturday...today was inches (not 100ths).

It even smells better outside today...the air is cleaner, though I can smell the ragweed too :(
