Hi everyone,

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. I plan to spend the next two days on my boat at Lake Dardanelle. I love to fish and wakeboard. Hope all of you have a fun weekend too.

Happy Labor Day from here too!

Bunny, at first I thought you were going to say on my b***, shame on me. I had planned to do that after a busy Saturday, but instead canned 9 jars of salsa........but I am through for two days now.

Helen, I spent most of yesterday and this morning on the boat. My arms are sore from wakeboarding. I am getting to old for it. But we had a great time. I didn't catch one fish. Hope you had a good Labor Day!

gldno1: I sat on **** on Saturday. I spent 3 hours Friday at a Retinal specialist in Little Rock and then shopping, so I was tired on Saturday. I am only 43, but I have caracts, so I am having caract surgery next month. I wear thick glasses, because I was pre-mature. They are replacing my lens in my eyes, so afterwards I probably will not have to wear glasses anymore. Sorry to bore you, but I am so happy.
Also, I bet your salsa taste great!

Don't say that anymore about boring people please. People who are bored are boring. Everyone here is interested in all sorts of stuff.

    Ann good luck w/your surgery.
My son had that done. He seems to like it. He can see to go hunting w/out glasses. Which according to him is a big plus. who knew?
sound's like you had a good weekend.
I cleaned out the garage and laundry room. As well as worked in the flower beds all day today and some yesterday and mowed.

Ann - Eye surgery is on my list of things to do someday (when I have some spare money laying around) so I envy you a bit. Won't it be nice to see clearly again! You should plan a visit to a garden when it's done to celebrate and enjoy how well you can see.

We cleaned out some very thorny brush in the fencerow over the weekend. My neighbor's black locust sends up shoots from its roots and I hadn't cut those back for awhile. The thorns on those things are HUGE. We lost a couple hedge trees in the ice storm in '07 that are still sending up thorny shoots from the stumps as well. After the ice storm, we used a tractor to pull out the stumps from a couple other hedge trees and should've done that with all of them but there was just sooo much clean up to do at the time and it didn't get entirely finished. There were lots of other little scrub trees coming up that needed to be cut out and weeds of course. It sure looks a lot nicer now.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Bonnie - you can start on my garage now. : )

Bonnie-I am glad your son's surgery went well. I hope mine goes as well also. You can clean out my garage, too.

Christie-since I have caracts, my insurance pays for 80% of it. We cut down huge trees several years ago, and had the stumps grinded down. Now there is a sinking hole where the stump once was, so now I have put dirt in that spot each year. We should have pulled our stumps out and filled in with dirt.

My mother had her lens replaced and I watched on TV. It didn't take long. You have to use eye drops and not rub your eyes for a few weeks. The doctors who do that sort of thing have every step all lined out. I don't think there was any pain.
