Eureka Springs trip

We went to Eureka Springs over the weekend. It was well over 100 and we didn't do as much outside as we would've if it was cooler but we did see a few things.

We stayed a night at 1886 Crescent Hotel and they had a large landscaped area that was nice, lots of butterflies.

The hotel has an interesting history with ghost stories.

Got to see Quigley Castle which was built in the 1930's with four feet of soil along the inside first floor for tropical plants going up to the second story, bedroom was wallpapered with butterflies and stones, and lots of things hand constructed out of rocks.

We saw Grotto Spring and Crescent Spring. There are trails but it was too hot to do much walking.

The trail for Pivot Rock and the Natural Bridge was short so we went on that.

Eureka Springs is such a weird little town. We enjoyed just driving around and looking at the buildings. We hadn't visited there for many years. The ground is so hilly with rock bluffs everywhere. I can't imagine how difficult it must've been for people to settle there originally.
