Great shots, but you need to tell us what the flowers are...please, especially that last one!

I have been trying all summer to get a picture of the large carpenter bees that we have visiting the flowers....so far, no luck.

The first three are hibiscus..rosa-sinensis I think. The bee is working his/her magic on my beans....and the last is...........sweet corn...

The sweet corn is the most interesting to me. Earlier when I posted wild flower pictures, I tried to identify them before I posted. Now I know a new plant. We don't really look at the things around us, but a camera isolates the details.

Thanks for the compliments....helen, your right...we tend move so fast about our daily routines its easy to miss the little things. So...stop and smell the roses....or the sweet corn....

What a pretty hibiscus! Haven't seen one like that yet..and I live on the island of hibiscus!

Hi missfourseasons.....this is more of a tree/shrub than others I've seen....6 - 10 feet in height....3 - 4 feet in diameter. Just transplanted a couple of days ago.

Now, see, and here I thought I was pretty observant. I would never have guessed corn. I think digital cameras have been the greatest invention in 100 years! Those macro shots make us really look.

Will you have to bring the hibiscus inside this winter?

RE: A few garden shots

I'm not sure....I've been told they will survive with a good mulching....I'll have to do some checking before winter arrives.
