| helen, I just planted one a couple of weeks ago so don't know. I need to get out there and water it too. I bought the purple version 'Grace'. I sure hope it looks as good as the pictures show it. |

| What kind did you get Helen? I think they have beautiful foliage. I'm sure you'll like it. I planted a plain green leafed variety several years ago then decided the next year that I wanted to move it to a different spot and it didn't like being transplanted. It died. : ( |

It is mislabeled. The nursery had two varieties; all were labeled Royal Purple Smoke. One had greener leaves with red purple new shoots. I got that because the plants looked more vigorous. I killed this once years ago. I probably lost it in summer not watering a new plant. I have wanted one for a long time. Years ago early morning I saw a big green variety with smoke covered with dew sparkling in the sun. Sometimes it is hard to duplicate wonders.  |
