    william......
Have you ever used the JB nicotine concoction?
Some say it kills beneficial insects, earthworms and soil organisms, along with the bad bugs.
I have seen several blogs discussing his "recipes", so you may be able to google up the formula, if no one has his books.
I have never used any of his homemade remedies and probably won't. Some of them seem pretty far fetched to me.

Do you mean the one for tobacco tea?
1/2 handful of chewing tobacco in an old nylon stocking.
fill a clean milk jug (or container) w/gallon of very hot water.
Then soak the tobacco-filled stocking in the hot water until the water turns dark brown.
Label container and add to tonic when called for.

I don't think this is the one you want. Is it the one w/used cigarette butts?
I don't see that one in this book, but I will book in a different one tomorrow.

it was the one in the water jug and stocking but i thought it had listerene, beer, ammonia and something else. i used it while living in phila and it worked pretty good on tomatoes and peppers. i have not used any chemicals the 2 yrs i have lived here but the stink bugs/ squash bugs have really been bad this yr. i don't want any chemicals but i have to do something.

    6 tsp fruit tree spray
    4 tbsp antiseptic mouthwash
    2 tsp witch hazel

    Shrub pest-preventer
    1 c baby shampoo
    1 c antiseptic mouthwash
    1 c tobacco tea
    1 c chamomile tea
    water

    flower defender

Thanks, Bonnie I will try the one with garlic, onion, pepper, and dish soap. No tobacco here. Stink bugs have been making my tomatoes bumpy with uneven ripening. I don't remember having this problem before.
