| I have one more huge one left in the patch. The stem was still green so I left it.
I just had a slice and it is very juicy and sweet. Thanks Christie.

| Those look good Glenda! Congrats! Did you weigh them? Only one of my Orangeglow watermelons got to fully ripen. Something was chewing through the stems before they got a chance to finish. The one I did harvest was very good and almost too sweet. My dad has been giving me his extra Crimson Sweets this year. He's had better luck than usual with his watermelons and has had plenty to share. We've also been eating Charentais melons and I still have several in my frig right now. Those did pretty well although I think I picked a few of them a little too early. I've had the worst luck with Sakata's Sweet. Those are just too small which makes them easy for the groundhog to carry off I guess. There's a second flush that isn't ripe yet. One is wedged between the wires on my chainlink fence. That might be the only one he doesn't steal. lol |

| Two weighed just over 11.5 lbs and one was just over 12. The one in the garden should go about 14 lbs. It is the largest. I was going to bring some to you, but sounds like you are well supplied. I will see if my neighbors want one. Something got all the cantaloupe, but they were not good flavored. Maybe they have to be grown in Canadian soil! |

Glenda you're so thoughtful but yes I have plenty. I'm sure you'll find someone else that will be glad to take one off your hands though. I need to try to remember to start some early watermelons next year. It seems like everything ripens at the same time. |
