I got my bulb catalog from Van E. They start shipping lilies in mid October, so that is when I'll plant them. I have purchased them locally in spring, so that works too. Do voles eat your lilies? I don't keep mine long and I think voles eat them. Some in pots survive. I haven't planted new lilies in a while because my cats were kittens, but they are mature now less chewing and biting. So many plants are said to be poison; I think most mature animals just eat grass.

Thanks Helen! Mine are still a little green, so I am going to wait until the top growth turns a little more brown. Thank goodness we do not have Voles. I started out with a couple of bulbs, now I have way too many, so I am going to transplant a few and give the rest to my aunt. I can't have house plants, because one of my older cats eats house plants. He doesn't bother the outside plants, since he perfers grass.
