The first is just to show the two new starts of salvia Black and Blue I took mid summer. I was trying to pull out a couple of dead pieces and it came up roots and all so I cut it back and planted it between the grasses and lo and behold it is blooming. I didn't realize how easy it is to start!

The next is the seed pods of hibiscus moscheutos that are full of these small beetles who are, I am assuming, eating the seeds. I am hoping the rains may eliminate them...or I may have to.

And the last two are of the swamp oak I bought at the Master Gardener's sale a couple of years ago. I was thrilled to find acorns this year. This has been a good year (up until August) for swamp anything.
