| The dahlias bloomed in July and then I cut them
down, they grew back as tall as ever and blooming again. Hard to believe, I have grown dahlias for several years and this is a first time for this. Has any one else had them to rebloom ? It measures 7 inches. Happy gardening.caroline

That is beautiful. When you say you cut them down, how far do you mean?

There is a nursery here in Guam that is selling dahlias now and I am so tempted, but I thought it is just too tropical for them here and wondered how they did it. I'd probably kill it...now I'm wondering if all the rain and humidity you guys have been getting might be good for them?? Always thought they needed some cold to rest for some reason...I am impressed!

What a nice bonus Caroline! Are the ones that are reblooming all the same variety? That one is a pretty color, peachy on my computer.

Helen, they had brown leaves and looked as if they were finished blooming, it was so hot. I cut them back to about a foot from the ground. They are like bushes now, about 5ft. They break so easily. I never fertilized them. Happy gardening, caroline

Yes , Christie they are, I planted them so long ago, maybe 4 yrs. I wasn't keeping tags then :) so don't know their name. I was so surprised when they grew back up.I have never had them to bloom after last of Aug. Happy gardening, caroline

Caroline, what a lovely peach color. I think you are very lucky to get a second show this growing season. Bonnie

I just have one dahlia and it has set new buds and is blooming again....smaller and less doubled than earlier, but nice anyway. I don't know much about them.....I just leave it in the ground and let it do its thing.

I never cut my back, probably should have since it fell over and I couldn't raise it back up; it was just too large. I need a much sturdier staking system for next year.
