New Local Garden Forum?

Hi all,

Well, looks like there's the formation of a new garden forum that is actually being created locally in Springfield. Appears to represent all gardeners in Southwest Missouri and the Ozarks.

Seems like it's got a lot of potential, and will have up to date happenings. I like the diversity of the Garden Talk Forum. I like the look. We could certainly help get it going. I'll be interested to see if there will be more area gardeners that find their way there.

I noticed they'll be posting when they can use help in the gardens. That might be fun to get in on.

What do you think?

Here is a link that might be useful: Friends of the Garden Forum

I like it!

The only problem I see is that there are a lot of different topics, maybe too many, and it will be slow for awhile. It would be great if there were a few regular master gardeners on there to give advice. Maybe they could count that toward their volunteer hours. There would be plenty of opportunities to make people aware of it as a source of information and some might prefer to use the FOG forum instead of the Master Gardener Helpline.

George must be a fast typist. He puts out a ton of info. Someone should talk him into writing a book. : )

I joined--but on second thought, I probably shouldnt have.
It seemed more to be Springfield, and those in the city.
My daughter lives there, but I'm hours away-and their problems dont quite seem the same as those of us who live in the country and farms.

cersone you better stay away because you got me hooked on heirloom tomatoes and could do that to others. You are dangerous.

LOL--I've been accused before!
One neighbor, the one that draws disability for mental problems-told another neighbor that I was trying to get his wife to grow a garden!!
Now, it's a joke out here, because I encouraged THAT couple, now her hubby is building garden beds like mine-and she is looking at seed catalogs..
the first gentleman actually said, on growing tomatoes-that if they grew, he would have to go outside and pick them--and that wasnt going to happen!!
The only thing I havent done was grow so many zuccini that I slip around at night, and put them in cars....humm-there IS next year...
