I got about a half inch estimated because I have turned over my rain gauge. I was glad to hear it on the roof last night. Today was another beautiful day; I hope you got outside. Honey helped me make drainage holes in the milk jugs I'm saving for winter sowing. You would think I would be discouraged by the last two years but am in the mood for winter sowing. I don't want to order seeds yet but I have been looking at columbine seeds on line. Ordering seeds is how I cheer myself in the depths of winter.

Helen, we got about 3/4 inch of needed rain here. LOL about ordering seeds to cheer yourself up. Me too.

I took my rain gauge down too so I'm not sure how much we got here. The potted stuff on my patio was getting kinda dry so I was glad to hear the thunder. I have rolled up the garden hoses and put them away so I would have to carry jugs of water or drag out a hose again if I had to water my containers. I've gotten a few seed catalogs in the mail and haven't had a chance to look through them but I will. Last year I put in a seed order request to my hubby in time to get them wrapped and under the tree for Christmas. If they're under the tree I don't feel quite so guilty for spending money. I'm just helping him shop. : )

I had taken down my gauge too and no buckets around anywhere for a change. That's what I get for neatening things up around here. We think 1/2 to 3/4 inch here too. I should have known....I cleaned out the strawberry bed that morning and soaked it so I would be ready to mulch when the ground freezes. It is soaked now! I didn't get the garden tilled but I did mow it off closely so the tiller could work without dry weeds tangling in the tines. I still hope to get it done before spring. I laughingly filled out an order at Swallowtail Seeds....came to $50! I plan to toss all old seeds out this winter and start fresh. I see I have a lot of Trail of Tears beans hanging dry. I need to harvest them for seeds. They are still a favorite variety. I have Helen to thank for getting me started on them. They will have to dry a few days after the rain. I have received three catalogs so far.
