Bambi on the offensive!!

| This is shaping up to be the worst year ever for deer damage in my garden.
I have grown epimediums and pulmonarias in my shade areas for years and never seen but a few deer nibbles on them before this year. As of this last snow, the deer have eaten every single leaflet from my evergreen epis, browsed some of the pulmonaria into the ground, even uprooting some and eating the roots, and virtually destroyed all the liriope and ophiopogon by pulling it up by the roots and consuming it. So-far, they are still only nibbling on the hellebores, but I fear they will get to them soon. Just noticed they had broken off several branches from the holly trees at the edge of the garden and reduced the aucuba to bare sticks as high as they can reach.
Deer repellant seems to do very little to stop them. |

| I also want to acknowledge your frustration. I have had problems with them and I know how bad it hurts to see the damage |

| I forgot something I did but not as a deterent. I needed a raised walkway from my second level of the my yard to the third level. I had some pallets that they delivered my slate in I laid them down as a test to see if I could use them in that area. Well I got busy and did not get back to the project. The fall leaves fell on the pallets and I could not see them but when the deer stepped in that area they kept falling down. They decided they did not want to eat anything on that acre. I have 4 acres. LOL |
