Norfolk Island Pine and Gardenia

Hi out there and have a healthy New Year !! My Mom bought me a Norfolk Island Pine and so far it is staying green. I keep it in the bedroom that I keep cooler than the rest of the house. SW exposure (not much sun lately). I have sprayed it with water and so far it is very green. Any other suggestions??? I also have my Gardenia plant that is growing nicely. I shower it every night and leave it in the shower. In the morning I put it near the kitchen window in the NE/E exposure. I had 2 flowers from it in the summer (it was outside). I brought my scaevola plant inside and put it in the basement. The last time I watered it I think I grabed the bottle of vinegar instead of the water....parts of it are growing but the rest looks dried up. Not sure whether I used vinegar or water (horrors!!!)
