Spring bulbs coming up already

Posted by kbarrett PA (My Page) on

Hello! I live in central PA. We've had a very mild Dec. and my daffodils & tulips are sprouting. Some are up 4" already. My question after winter finally shows up here will the flowers come back in spring or if they won't re-bloom will the bulbs be a total loss and not come back the following spring? Thanks for any help!

The daffs should be fine, not to worry. A little bit of green always comes up during the January thaw, they'll bloom normally in the spring.

My daffs are coming up too. Never noticed this before. But, I never went outside to look either. It's just been so mild, that I've been out more. Thanks, pipersville carol, now I know not to worry....I bought some very beautiful daffs last fall.

I saw a quince in full bloom yesterday.

My snowdrops and witch hazel are in full bloom. It's normal for the witch hazel, but really early for the snowdrops.
