Argh, it's so frustrating seeing everything covered with ice again. I'm hoping the big thaw will come soon.

I keep staring out the window trying to will the snow to melt. GO AWAY!

I got to glimpse some of my plants briefly Thursday as some of the ice melted away. Things looked so good until that last blast of cold and ice.... now I'm finding alot of mushy ice damaged plants where healthy plants were at the start of Feb. Hopefully it's only the surface leaves and they regrow from the roots.

If I look out at the snow one more time I'm going to go snow blind. Maybe it's time to start a few tomatoes or something.

I have been lurking here at PA gardening and when I saw this post Are you ready for spring?, I thought this is the perfect time to dive in and introduce myself and respond.
I'm from SE PA, just outside of Philadelphia. I love gardening and another passion are the birds that I attract to my yard, especially hummingbirds. So spring to me is the return of the hummers, and enjoying being outside. I just love spring and summer! I'm a school library assistant so I have summers off. Plenty of time to garden.

well, at least the rain melted most of the snow. the ground is easier to work being all mushy. weeds pull out real nice.

i'm trying to get a few new beds in order as i am expecting a major shipment of various plants from a coop that i'm participating in. not too bad, still within my gardening budget!

also need to get my act together and get my greenhouse built. purchased a 10x12 harbor frieght that's just sitting in my garage screaming to get out.

my yellow and purple crocus are in bloom and have been, even before the last couple of snows.

Welcome, cookie! I live just outside of Philly, too. Have you noticed that our area seems to have a great deal of gardening history? I like that.

Earthly delights, I'm jealous of your greenhouse. What kind did you get? Is it freestanding?
