I was sitting at my kitchen table, admiring my pansies in their containers, when I noticed a bee flying from bloom to bloom. Is that kind of unusual in March?

I also saw a couple of honeybees on my hellebores this weekend. This thrilled me, since I saw not a single honeybee on my plants last year, but only bumbles. George

yes, it is unusual for early march. i'm sure this weekend will delay any further emergence. i didn't see any bees, though, just wasps.

I also saw a few honey bees this past weekend, but I have nothing blooming for them at all. I was shocked to see them. I guess they are waiting for me to bring out my brugs. 2 years ago when I put some brugs on my decks I saw my first honey bee in a very long time. Last year, they were here in the hundreds, maybe more. The only problem is now they take all my pollen before I can get to it, LOL.

I had a bumblebee visiting my winter daphne which is in bloom today. It is in the high 30s or low 40s. Poor little bumble. I think it was having a hard time.
