I am cranky, too.

Some idiot in my neighborhood is hell bent on killing the two little saplings that I planted in the parking strip between my front sidewalk and the street.
The idiot knocks one tree down (the pin oak) and breaks pieces off the other three (the green ash).

I left a nice note on each tree asking the idiot to "Please leave this poor little tree alone. Thank you!" but came home to find the notes torn off the trees and further damage done to the green ash and the poor pin oak on its side.

So I looked into the 5 foot wrought iron tree guards that you see on the nicest city streets. Generally they are $500 EACH but I found someone willing to build them for me for $150 each. It will be another four weeks before delivery. And I found my poor pin oak on its side, this morning.

This idiot may actually kill my poor trees before the guards arrive.

My husband has been out of town, this winter but is due back this week. In Texas, we'd handle this matter with the talking end of a rifle. (A little buckshot never killed anyone.) But I guess that's out of the question, here in the settled East.

What a shame-----Some idiot that doesn't have anything better to do with his or her time.

I hope you can save your trees --I would be very upset.

Is there some kind of alarm you could use on the tree?
