jpe, there's a farm house (not sure what else to call it) over where manor college & st. basil school ~~ up the drive from the motherhouse or whatever it is called. there's that big open field where the horses graze and you can see the barn from the street. when you go up the drive just go to the barn door and they will help you if they are still doing it.

manor is on fox chase road off of huntingdon pike, intersecting with cedar road. familiar with the area?

if i can find any other places, i'll post and let ya know.

RE: seedless hay or straw???

A couple years ago, I was in search of straw (since hay usually has seeds) and did find some nearer to me after I bought some from Linvilla Orchards in Delaware County. They sell it at Primex Garden Center in Glenside, PA. (Montgomery County). Linvilla had it for something like $3 - $4 per 3ft rectangular bale. Not sure how much at Primex.

Here is a link that might be useful: Primex
