No more cold weather, I won't have it!!!

I just listened to the weather forcast for SE PA and I will not have those cold days and nights that they say are coming. All of you have to help me and wish as hard as you can that the forecast will change and it will not be in the 20,s at night. I am having too much fun setting out violas and sweet williams, and weeding and pruning, and starting more seeds, and hardening off seedlings, and ammending soil, and weeding, oh I said that already, but it takes more than one weeding to get it all done of course. LOL. Is anyone else enjoying the beginning of this gardening season as much as I am?

| nina, i hear you. i just heard the forecast -- freeze they say? i refuse to believe it. i love this time of year. walking around seeing what's popping, pulling whatever weeds think they are going to take up residence in the established beds and prepping new areas. the last couple of days - by myself - i built one of those metal gazebos you see everywhere. wasn't too problematic until it was time to put the cover over it. i could have used a few more hands, but with patience, i did it. i'm going to enjoy my little "outside room". i'm way behind on some things, but i'm not fretting about it at all. we get to stretch the seasons, so i'll eventually catch up! maryanne |

| Ugh, the weather this morning is awful, lots of brutally cold wind. At least it's sunny. |

Just when I was about to plant some pansies and wildflowers, and this weather has to be around. I was so enjoying being outside with the warmth of spring and looking at all the wonderful blossoms and buds that are popping out on the trees and bushes here in Pittsburgh. I just hope this current freeze doesn't hurt the outcome of our blossoms.

All I can say is Thank God for the angle of the April sun!!! Here in SE PA it is COLD, but we've been brave and are weeding and replacing top soil and mulching beds. I have so many things I was ready to set out but, alas, I have to wait a while longer. The violas are already set and they are holding up well. I'm itching to plant more.
We'll be warm and soon forget the cold in no time.

| Well, at least we didn't get any of the snow this morning. They did get some around Richmond, VA, though according to the Weather Channel. It is supposed to be cool throughout this week. |

| I'm also sick of this cold weather. I like to have only 2 seasons. Hot and humid == 80's and 90's for highs, 60's and 70's for lows, and the cool season == 60's and 70's for highs and 40's and 50's for lows. The flowers around here are looking like crap now. I hope we don't get another winter up here in Pa for at least 5 more years. : ( |
