Squirrels in the tulips?

annld

Something is eating the tulips in my back yard! The flowers have been gnawed right off at the tops of the stems with no trace of petals left behind. I assume it's squirrels, but they aren't touching the multitudes of other tulips that I have in the *front* yard. They didn't bother the hyacinths I have in the back yard either. Does this sound like squirrels?

Has anyone come up with a good way to keep the squirrels (or whatever) at bay without making the garden too ugly with chicken wire or traps?

Thanks...

Ann
