Hummer is back!

This probably belongs on the Hummingbird forum BUT it's a PA (Chester County) Hummer:-) & we all know they are the best. I thought I had seen him flying by earlier today but wasn't 100% sure. He stopped by some bleeding hearts and I'll go to bed happy(er) now.
I hail from the emerald isle so having a hummer in the back yard is the stuff of dreams!

Congratulations!!! I'm so jealous :). I have feeders, red flags and many, many hummingbird plants, but still no hummers. I overwintered a few things, so I have large pots of lantana, Salvia Chiapensis, Mexican sage and Salvia hot lips blooming. Plus, I bought a few blooming bleeding hearts. Unfortunately, I'm sure my property didn't have hummingbird plants until I moved here, so I don't know if they'll find me this year. If you have an extra, send it up to Pottstown! Enjoy, Bellatrix

I"m jealous, too, no hummers here in Pipersville yet. I was thinking about them this morning, looking at the kitchen window. I don't have any red blooms yet.

Hello, I'm from south hills, of pa. but I have a cabin in the mountains near Seven Springs, if any of you know where that is. My husband and I have Hummers come back every yr. at our feeders. Just this past weekend, they were flying around the potted plant I just bought and set out on the front porch. Well, I said to hubby, I better make the sweet water, cause they're back!!!!!! There were about 3 of them at our feeders. Spring is finally here!!

I saw one, too! It was on my neighbor's Quince. I immediately put out my feeder but have yet to see any at it. I see them most often in the early evening. That could be because I am at work all day! I had fewer last year than other years but got the feeder up a little late. I hope I can get them coming to the feeder regularly this year. I always put some bright red hibiscus by the feeder. I never get tired of watching them. I live in Lower Merion right outside of Philadelphia.

They are up here in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area. I saw one working the neighbor's apple tree. I wouldn't of thought of this as a hummingbird plant but I guess when you're hungry you're hungry.
