What are your suggestions where to buy roses in Chester/Lancaster counties? I will not shop at box stores or most garden centers. Thanks.

RE: Shopping for roses

For growing roses in good old PA clay soil I recommend Pickering mail order.

Unfortunately, most roses you buy locally at nurseries or arden centers are growing on Dr Huey rootstock. I have not been nearly as successful with Dr Huey roses as I have been with Pickering roses which are grown on disease free multiflora rootstock.

Good Luck!
