The leaves of our Tulip Poplars have been out for about two weeks.....even the one we had planted last autumn. I live in south-western Penna....almost W.V.!!!!

How long have your other things been in leaves? The neighbor's maple trees just had leaves open up within the last two days. A lot of other trees are still bare....like the locust up back. I think it should be soon...or at least I sure hope. I hope it's still living!

Did you try scratching the bark on one of the twigs? If it's green underneath there's hope, if the twigs are dry and snap easily, there's not that much hope :(

Most of our trees have had leaves for about a month. The Tulip Poplars are usually the last to leaf out. I think Kato is correct, if there's green underneath there's hope!

I'm pretty sure the tree isn't all dried up. I was just concerned because of the buds are dark and look dried up. I've never seen a tulip poplar get it's leaves before. This is really the first poplar I've seen up close that I remember. We bought it because there had been another tree in almost the same spot and it was 15 years old and just never grew right. My Dad started it from a seedling off the neighbor's tree and I guess it Y'd at the bottom and we always said he must have cut the wrong side off. It was shorter than this tree was when we bought it and it was a 15 year old maple! Anyway, there are buds in areas where there weren't before so that's promising!

"The Tulip Poplars are usually the last to leaf out."-that's what I was wondering about....where they are in amongest the other trees. Thanks!
