You can find them on line at Hirts Gardens. I recommend them highly. Ordered triple crown thornless blackberry and kiwi gold raspberry potted plants. Came in great shape and not expensive based on what I received. They have the saffron crocus but won't ship until its time to plant. Call them in August. Enter saffron in the search bar on their website.

I bought a church cookbook somewhere around 1990, and it had recipes for saffron - a cake and a chicken pot pie. It was from the Palm Schwenkfelder Church - now *that* is an old "dutchy" name. The cookbook celebrated the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the Schwenkfelders (tiny German Protestant denomination) in the area. They also have a wonderful local genealogy library. The village of Palm is at the northern end of Montgomery County, near the border with Berks and Lehigh Counties. Right up the road from East Greenville and Pennsburg (slightly larger villages).

I don't work near there anymore, and I don't know anyone at that church, but if you contacted the church, they might know a source for local saffron corms - or have saffron gardeners in the congregation. The link for the church website is below.
