Anyone have tips on how to grow sweet potatoes? I've got some sprouting sweets and I would like to try to grow them.

May not be much of a tip, but last year, I just dug a hole and put in the sprouting potato. At the end of the season when the vines yellowed, I dug up a lot of sweet potatoes.

They do vine, so put them somewhere with room for vines, or train them onto a tomato cage. They vines will get heavy and want to pull down the cage, so I also drive some stakes into the ground and tie the cage to them.

This year I have sprouting sweet potatoes from last year's batch, and I also bought 4 sweet potato slips at a nursery. I want to compare how they do.

Well-drained, preferably sandy (or light) soil. Need some water in dry seasons.
