porcupine grass dead??

Hi, I planted a 1 gallon porcupine grass 3 yrs ago and it quickly turned into a monster. 3'round x 8' high. I cut it down to about 8" high in April. It has yet to show new sprouts for this year. Should there be any or am I rushing it? [5/22/07]

That would be surprising if it did die, especially if it was a healthy monster. Give it a little longer maybe it will still surprise you (although my p.grass is sprouting already).
Cutting it back to 8" is normal grass care. That shouldn't have caused any problems.
