I've had one for a few years. Although I have lots of butterflies in my yard, I have never seen a butterfly near it. I would recommend it as a pretty decoration, but that's about it. :(

Do you think that grasshoppers use them, or might use them? I've accidentally destroyed two grasshopper nests in the last two years, so if I could provide the hoppers a new home location other than my windowsill (underneath the screen), I'd happily do it.

Good question. I have no idea if grasshoppers would use it. :)

The only living things I ever saw near my butterfly house were a few hornets. Nonetheless, the butterfly house makes a fun garden decoration.
