Bluebeard and Queen of the Prairie

Has anyone in this area planted Caryopteris x Clandonensis (any type) or Queen of the Prairie?? I'm very interested in trying them in my gardens but am not sure where to put them. What conditions suit them best in the real world. Any input would be very helpful, thanks so much.

I grow Caryopteris x Clandonensis (Longwood) and tall purple and short pink queen of the prairie (unknown names)in full sun and they do fine.
I also have the queen of the prairie in a bed that gets morning sun only, and that does fine.

Thanks. Where did you get your Queen of the Prairie? I can't find it anywhere.

I purchased mine years ago on EBay.
Maybe we can work something out ;)
Do you ever get over to this side of the state Pottstown/Reading? I'm half-way between both.
If so let me know.

Thanks for the offer but I stopped in at my local nursery and they had two Queens left so I bought them both, on sale too! I also picked up a blue mist shrub and already got them all planted.

Glad you found QoftheP, it WILL spread ;)
When I prune my blue mist I stick the cuttings into the ground and get more shrubs easily ;)

Queen of the Prairie "Filipendula rubra" like a moisture retentive soil but will grow in average soil. I grow mine in a low spot in my garden where the soil is always moist but well drained. Caryopteris does not like it's feet wet. Queen of the Prairie blooms in the beginning of July and Caryopteris starts to bloom the end of August for me. They won't be in bloom the same time.
